Let's Go To The Moon

I'm pretty excited about the topic for our next Seas of Science: THE MOON. After traveling and brainstorming (and fighting off some heavy writers block), I'm pleased at how the episode is coming along. I've given myself to the end of the year to finish a rough draft, which I think is a reasonable goal. Already I'm pretty stoked about our audience participation activities and all the songs, costumes, and of course - silliness.

For some reason, I've been very inspired by all things French lately. I think it may stem from the suggestion my pal Jeff Miller gave me to re-watch Le Voyage Dans La Lune - A Trip To The Moon by Georges Méliès:

Oh so dreamy! I think most people have a familiarity with this movie, but watching it again was inspiring. The sets, the costumes, the special effects. Love it.

Behind The Porthole

Ahoy!

After a bit of a rest, I'm happy to share that work has begun on the next episode of Seas of Science. Episode 2 is currently in the writing / creative phase, with anticipated production dates in summertime 2013.

For now, please enjoy this video of some behind the scenes footage from the last performances of SOS earlier this year. Reminds me of how much fun we had.

Spring Fever

Happy Springtime, Everyone!

If you haven't already guessed, Seas of Science is taking a little break after our very fun and successful run of performances at The Complex Theater. Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our shows, we had a great time! Lots of smiling faces, good vibes, and a few lucky winners went home with their very own baby Sergio doll. Congratulations to our winners!

I myself am looking forward to doing some traveling in the next two months - first up is Buenos Aires, Argentina. The South American Paris. I'll be working on mi español while I'm there and look forward to writing some new material for SOS during the long (very long) plane flight.

I hope you get to enjoy this lovely time of year and get to do some traveling of your own. Until next time, hasta luego!!

SEAS OF SCIENCE ADMISSION BY DONATION - An Explanation

The upcoming performances of SEAS OF SCIENCE are Admission by Donation. That means all ages, all shows, are pay what YOU can afford. No person or family will be turned away for lack of funds. There are many reasons for this decision. Mainly, I feel that Seas of Science is a fantastic show that deserves to be accessible to everyone. Far be it from me to exclude anyone from enjoying our fun show and getting stoked on science for the price of a ticket.

On the flip side, if Seas of Science is something that gets YOU stoked, please donate! You can donate in person at the shows, or make a contribution online via PayPal:

http://tinyurl.com/6mru8kh

Your contribution goes towards the cost of theater rental for this run of performances, and funds our future endeavors like creating EPISODE TWO: GRAVITY (!!!)

That's it! Admission by donation, pay what you can afford. Bring a friend, buy some handmade goodies, and enjoy the show.

Performances start this Sunday, February 26th! Reserve your seats by emailing seasofscienceRSVP@gmail.com with your name, number in your party, and your preferred date and show time.
